There was more online poker action at the GGPoker tables on August 3rd as three more WSOP Online events unfolded. Two of those resulted in winners as Malaysia’s Paul Teoh and Lithuania’s Vladas Burneikis made it onto the list of 2020 WSOP Online bracelet winners. Day 2 of the Millionaire Maker closed out as well, confirming the final table of nine players.
Malaysia’s Paul Teoh had his first WSOP gold achievement after taking Event #47: $1,000 Short Deck No-Limit Hold ’em for $88,202 and a WSOP gold bracelet at GGPoker. The victory came about one week after Mexico’s Lev Gottlieb was victorious in the $10,000 Short Deck bracelet event.
Prior to 2020, Teoh’s only WSOP experience came from his trips to the WSOP Europe in 2018 and 2019 at King’s Resort. There, he took five cashes in bracelet events in three different poker variants.
His last final cash came when he finished 10th in a short-deck event, the 2019 WSOPE Event #13: €2,500 No-Limit Short Deck Hold ’em for €8,322 ($9,256).
Teoh was given a run for his money when he made it to the final table, having to go up against Mike Watson.
Watson is considered by many to be one of the best tournament players who has never won a WSOP bracelet, and the streak continued as he was beaten by Teoh. He has taken over $12 million in live cashes and an additional $6 million in online tournament cashes, putting him in sixth place in the world.
Another big winner was Vladas Burneikis, who received his first World Series of Poker bracelet. After six hours, he won Event #49: $500 Turbo Deepstack No-Limit Hold ’em on GGPoker.
Burneikis won $192,523 and a WSOP Europe package worth $15K. He beat a field of 2,978 players in the quickly unfolding event.
