The 2020 World Series of Poker is still underway, with many events taking place on GGPoker, as players from around the globe can compete for a gold bracelet. In this article, we’re going to take a look at the results at a previous couple of events. Read on!
Event #67: $500 Limit Hold ’em
Last Friday was reserved for Event #67: $500 Limit Hold ’em, and Gregor Muller was the one to top this event, winning a total of $45,101 for his effort. The event attracted 706 players who managed to create the prize pool of $335,350.
Muller has two recorded live cashes in 2010 and in 2016 in Austria, where he even managed to win in the Mini Main Event, winning $1,541. Therefore, his cash today is the biggest one in his poker career.
Event #69: $1,500 Marathon
Nick Maimone managed to win against Diego Bittar from Brazil to win a total prize of $302,472 and his first gold bracelet in the WSOP Event #69: $1,500 Marathon No Limit Hold ’em. The event attracted a total of 1,438 entrants who created the prize pool of $2,049,150.
Maimone never won a WSOP bracelet before this event, but he is definitely no stranger to playing poker as he has $2.1 million in live earnings, as stated on his Hendon Mob profile. This win marked more than $1 million in WSOP earnings for this player.
Event #71: BIG 50
Event #71 offered $1 million in guaranteed prizes, and it managed to break a record for a WSOP with the most entries. Believe it or not, this event attracted a total of 44,576 players from all over the world, all of them with one goal in mind — to win a gold bracelet. The entry for it was only $50, making it the most affordable WSOP even in the history of this competition. In the end, the prize pool was doubled, as the most successful players had an opportunity to share from $2 million.
In the end, it was a Chinese player named Huhuan Feng who took home the biggest piece of the cake, winning a total of $211,282. To make things more interesting, Feng did not record any WSOP cashes on his resume. However, he has been actively playing many Asian events since 2017, where he managed to amass more than $300,000 in wins.
Needless to say, the amount that he won in BIG 50 was his biggest one yet. His second-biggest cash was in KRW 11,300,000 + 700,000 No Limit Hold ’em – High Roller (Event #8), which he managed to win at Jeju Red Dragon 2018 festival that took place in Jeju.
Other players who made it to the final table of this event were Xue Qiao Zhao, Ronald Haverkamp, Daniel Montagnolli, Max Veyga, Di Lu, Xiong Huang, Dean Lipscombe, and Wade Gillet.
