The PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Las Vegas ended at Resorts World Las Vegas. A $5,300 High Roller culminated the tournament. However, only six players advanced to its final day.
The event featured 150 players who created a $727,500 prize pool that the leading 20 entrants shared. Samuel Laskowitz beat Shannon Shorr in the last level to win $180,850 and the title. His other opponents at the final table included Jesse Lonis, John Andress, John Riordan and Alexander Condon.
Laskowitz stated after the event that his victory increased his confidence. He believes that he can compete and win other similar tournaments.
The player previously had $1.1 million in poker earnings. He won $256,170 after finishing second in the $400 Colossus at the June 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP).
His winning continued when he won the January 2023 $1,300 Mystery Bounty at The Return. He later finished eighth in Borgata’s Main Event of the tournament, taking home a six-figure prize. Laskowitz won PokerGO’s recent Poker Masters and finished second at Wynn Fall Classic’s $1,600 Mystery Bounty.
He stated after the tournament that bagging such a title requires luck and hard work. A player has to win several huge events and be in great form to increase their bankroll. Also, it is important to study opponents and predict their next moves.

Laskowitz’s Stunning Moves on the Final Day
Condon had the smallest stack when Day 3’s action began. He used pocket eights to double up through Andress. However, Condon finished sixth after Lonis’ jacks defeated his pocket sevens.
Low cards completed the table and Lonis collected more chips. Riordan increased his stack to over one million chips early in the day.
Andress used a suited king-five to shove but Shorr’s pocket sevens eliminated him in the fifth position. Laskowitz was the large stack when four-handed action began, Lonis following him with more than a million chips.
The duo clashed after a few minutes and Lonis collected part of Laskowitz’s stack. Riordan’s ace-seven increased his winning chances.
Unfortunately, he used a top pair of nines and lost a jam to Lonis’ pocket jacks thus leaving the table in fourth place. His exit extended Lonis’ chip lead in three-handed action.
Laskowitz used different poker tricks that earned him the stack lead as Lonis and Shorr were second and third respectively. Shorr put up a spirited fight as his opponents attempted to send him packing early. He eventually evened the chips for a while before Lonis got the upper hand.
Shorr got a few chips from Lonis after picking quad jacks. Laskowitz used ace-two to call before making a deuce flop and ending Lonis’ run in third place. Shorr’s battle with Laskowitz ended fast after his queen-ten lost a shove to Laskowitz’s king-ten hence being the runner-up with $113,030.
