The complete schedule for the 2024 World Series of Poker is now out, and the world’s top poker players will be figuring out which events they want to enter. The 2023 WSOP main event ended in historic fashion, and there is now a ton of hype and anticipation for the 2024 event.
Most of the biggest events are set to take place at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, and the action will begin on May 28th. By the time the World Series of Poker wraps up on July 17th, there will be plenty of great poker action.
While some changes are made to this event every single year, there are also some tournaments that will be back again. The $10,000 Main Event will draw the best players in the world, but there will also be the $50,000 Poker Player Championship.
There will be 99 different events that hand out WSOP championship bracelets, which is a record number. In order to get players ready for an exciting few weeks, some big events are taking place immediately.
More Tournaments Coming
It will be hard to top the action that took place in 2023, but this year’s event is shaping up to be a record-breaking year. There are actually four more events taking place this year than last, and there will be some other records that fall.
The Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas will add 100 new poker tables this year to try and keep the action flowing. Players will be able to get in on the action at the 700 different poker tables that will be set up for the main events.
Plenty of tournaments will take place on the opening day, but everything will heat up as the summer rolls along.
A Look at the Main Event
The 2024 Main Event will cost each player $10,000 to enter, and four days of flights will begin on July 3rd. There were over 10,000 entrants into the main event last year, and an even bigger number of players is expected to enter this year.
Daniel Weinman is coming into this event as the reigning champion, as he was able to walk away with $12.1 million last year. That cash prize was the biggest in the history of the WSOP, and more entrants will also make this an even bigger prize.
There will be a number of different stages that players will have to get through if they want to claim the massive prize. July 16th will be the first final table day, with the action to continue the next day.
While most of the main event action will take place in Las Vegas, satellite tournaments are also taking place. The WSOP offers smaller tournaments so that players are able to earn a spot in the Main Event later in July.
