Fedor Holz leading in poker POTY points

Fedor Holz has surprised the world of poker on more than one occasion, but with his most recent success during the 2016 World Series of Poker, he has managed to get a good amount of points that have given him the lead for the Card Player of the Year award. He will more than likely remain at the number one spot for a while unless Justin Bonomo (2nd) or David Peters (3rd) manages to get more than 1,500 points.

Card Player of the Year Prestige

Being named the card player of the year would give any poker player the satisfaction that during the entire year they have come out on top during the tougher live tournaments, as well as other action. All of the players on the leader boards are some of the best players in the world, so being at the top is a big enough feat in and of itself. The current leaders so far this year include:

RANK  PLAYER POY POINTS POY WINNINGS
1 Fedor Holz 5,738 $14,517,350
2 Justin Bonomo 4,470 $2,420,823
3 David Peters 4,331 $4,791,478
4 Tony Dunst 3,740 $1,125,803

Holz Dominating this Year

Not only is Holz leading in points, but he also has a substantial lead with his POY winnings, with the closest contender being Rainer Kempe with $6,046,235. He has already shown his prowess as a poker player with is most recent cashes:

  • First Place: No-Limit Hold’em for One Drop winning $4,981,775.
  • Third Place: 2016 Aria Super High Roller 10 winning $407,310.
  • First Place: 2016 Aria High Roller 34 winning $276,012.

He is already on his way to becoming the best poker player of 2016, and that is a great accomplishment for someone that started his career in 2013. He has certainly proven himself to be a worthy opponent, as he has bested other fellow pros while at the table. If he continues to dominate for the remaining few months, he will most certainly be given the Card Player of the Year award.
