The Mid-States Poker Tour visited the FireKeepers Casino in Michigan last May and was a huge success. Players traveled from across the nation to take part and now the tour is headed back to the same venue next month for even more tour gaming. The 2018 Mid-States Poker Tour FireKeepers is scheduled for May 17th to the 20th with qualifiers and super satellites already on offer.
Satellites and qualifiers began back in March with plenty more still left on the schedule. Players can choose to compete in the $60 + $5 Super Satellites, where 10,000 in starting chips are provided and blind levels are set for every 20 minutes. A $250 + $10 Main Event Qualifier is also on offer, with 12,000 in starting chips provided and 30-minute blind levels.
Also on offer will be Turbo Qualifiers. This qualifier will take place on May 17th and 18th. The Turbo option has a buy-in of $250 + $10 and provides 12,000 in starting chips with 15 minute blind levels.
For the $1,100 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, players will see a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool, which is most likely to be increased if this year’s turnout is anything like last year. In 2017, the event saw so many players competing, the prize pool reached over $1 million.
With the Main Event, there will be three starting flights, on May 17th, 18th and 19th. Each flight will begin at noon each day. Players who remain after each flight will come together on May 20th to compete until the winner is crowned. The final table will be live streamed so those not in attendance can check out all the action.
Players will be given 20,000 in starting chips and can pay $10 for a dealer add-on. Blind levels will begin at 50-100 with 40-minute levels. The poker room where the action will take place is quite large, featuring 22 poker tables.
