The Main Event of the World Poker Tour Five Diamond started on Tuesday. At the same time, another event called $25,000 High Roller ended up with Manig Loeser taking the victory. The High Roller event contained a total of 42 entrants that managed to create a $1,050,000 prize pool. That sum was awarded to the best six players. The German took the biggest bite out of it as the first placed player. It’s interesting that Manig Loeser foretold his victory in a way through his Twitter account. The total amount of money he won at this event is $321,300. This is indeed a huge sum, but only the fifth largest in his career. At the moment, Loeser has a total of $9,578,605 earned in live tournaments, and he is on the 13th place on the all-time money list in Germany. Judging by that fact, one could argue that Germany has a great history of poker and a lot of successful players, some of whom are currently among the best in the world.
Loeser had a very successful week behind him, as he also managed to finish on the second place after Ian Hunter in the event called 888poker LIVE London Super High Roller where he earned a total of $22,978. Other players that made it to the final table of this event include Nick Petrangelo ($63,000), Cary Katz ($84,000), Dan Smith ($105,000), Jake Schindler ($168,000), and Elio Fox ($308,700) who ended up on the second place. The High Roller event was definitely exciting but not the only one that took place as a part of WPT Fice Diamonds. Another exciting event was #11: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller which started off with 29 entries. The last five made it to the money list, and the winner was Sam Soverel who took home a hefty sum of $116,000. Others who were rewarded are Jonathan Depa, Josh Ladines, Michael Song, and Ryan Tosoc.
Another part of the tournament was also $10,000 Mixed Games event that took place during the weekend. The total number of players was 24, but the only ones that got paid were the four best-placed ones. The first place and the highest sum was taken by John Hennigan who won a total of $110,400. His heads-up opponent was ben You, and the third and the fourth places were occupied by Randy Ohel and John Racener respectively. The WPT Five Diamonds $10,000 Main Event already broke several records, the most important one being the number of entries which was 827, compared to the second-biggest ever from Season 16 which was 812. It is taking place at the moment and poker lovers could enjoy some great hands over there. The prize of the Main Event is patiently waiting to be snatched by the best and the luckiest poker player!
