The events scheduled for the 2023 European Poker Tour (EPT) have been released, with two new cities added to the five-event calendar. Although the EPT has the shortest schedule of any pro poker tour, the events remain some of the most popular on the poker calendar.
Next year’s season will include events in Paris and Cyprus, along with the three mainstays of Monte Carlo, Barcelona, and Prague.
“The schedule includes our players’ firm favorites, the first time in the glamorous French capital, and another exciting new addition to the tour,” said Cedric Billot, PokerStars’ head of global live events. “Cyprus is the perfect location to add to our schedule and we look forward to bringing all that an EPT has to offer to this new location.”
Paris to Host Opening Event
The 2023 EPT season will kick off with the new Paris event running from February 15 – 25 at the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile in association with Le Club Barriere Paris. There will be a total of 39 events at the EPT Paris, including tournaments in the France Poker Series. The EPT Paris main event will have a $5,580 buy-in with two starting dates between February 20 – 26.
The next stop in the spring will be the EPT Monte Carlo from April 26 – May 6. The entire schedule isn’t yet available, but the $5,580 main event is scheduled to run from April 30 – May 6. The EPT Barcelona is one of the most famous stops on the tour and will be held from August 21 – September 3, with the main event starting on August 27.
The second new stop on the tour is the EPT Cyprus, scheduled from October 11 – 22 and hosted by the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel, Casino & Spa. It replaces the EPT London, which was a popular tournament that ran for the last time in 2022. The EPT Cyprus main event takes place from October 16 – 22.
The last date on the 2023 European Poker Tour is the EPT Prague, scheduled from December 4 – 15. The full schedule has yet to be released, but PokerStars has slated the main event to begin on December 9.
Satellite Events Available for All Tour Stops
Each of the stops on the 2023 EPT Tour will feature the main event and a high roller event. There will also be many smaller buy-in events that are affiliated with regional tours like Eureka and Estrellas.
Players can also win seats to any of the tour events through online satellites at PokerStars online. PokerStars has said it is committed to improving the player experience for online qualifications for any of its live tour events.
The satellites for the 2023 EPT Paris event are already underway. Players that win a main event invitation will receive a package worth close to $8,000, which includes the tournament buy-in, round-trip airfare, and an eight-night hotel stay. More details about the upcoming 2023 EPT schedule will be released in the next couple of days.
