The WPT500 will be back in action in the United Kingdom after a year break thanks to a partnership between the World Poker Tour and 888poker. The $1 million event will take place in March, offering players a chance to compete with the best of the best and hopefully earn a payday. Known as Dusk Till Dawn, the UK version of the WPT500 has taken place in Nottingham for three years now and has been quite successful. The tournament now returns to London and will take place in four different locations.
888poker has a great relationship with Aspers Casinos, which has seen a few Day 1s of the tournament taking place at properties owned by Aspers. Day 1s are scheduled for Aspers Westfield Stratford City, Aspers Casino of Newcastle and The Casino Milton Keynes. Once Day 2 arrives, the tournament will be hosted by Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City only.
On Day 1, players will be given 15,000 in starting chips with blind levels at 30 minutes for the first eight levels. After that, blinds will increase every 40 minutes. Once the final table is reached, blinds will increase every hour. Players can compete in Day 1 online or in live game play. The online buy-in is $565 while the live buy-in is £420.
Players will have the ability to re-enter into the tournament one time per starting flight. There is no limit to how many Day 1s a player can participate in. However, only the largest stack will be used if the player progresses to Day 2 more than one time.
