A Look at Some Recent Poker Action

April and Florida are a great match. The 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown started on April 3rd with great poker action and is set to wrap up on April 23rd.

While many different players have come away with a win, Ryan Hoenig has easily been the most impressive player in this event.

Not only has Hoenig already won three events throughout the tournament, but he has been at the final table four other times. Hoenig has had a remarkable run-up, albeit some of the events he is winning are on the smaller side.

Before getting into the great run from Hoenig, here is a look at some of the other highlights of this event.

Big Event Coming

Most of the 2024 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown events will feature very low guaranteed pots, but that won’t be the case when it’s time for the main event. The final tournament will have a guaranteed prize pool of $3 million, and the buy-in will be $3,500.

This event is titled the World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown, where players must first compete in flights. All that action will begin on April 19th, and the field will be cut down from there.

The final table will be played on April 23rd, and Hoenig will be looking to continue his hot streak for a chance to cash in big. Most Seminole Hard Rock events come in different formats, but they’ll have plenty of no-limit hold ’em games.

Hoenig on a Heater

It’s hard to win back-to-back poker events, but Hoenig has been able to win three straight events during this run. All three of those wins came with a cash out of less than $15,000, but proving that he can win big is still impressive.

What’s even more impressive is that all three of those wins came with a different style of poker, and Hoenig has been competitive in other events as well. Hoenig could get to the final table seven times through the first nine days of action at the Seminole Hard Rock.

Hoenig came up in sixth and seventh place the first two times he got to the final table. That made Hoenig push harder, and he could finish in second place twice.

There have been other great performances from players at this event, but everyone is chasing Hoenig regarding the total payout. Hoenig is still a relatively unknown player on the live poker scene, as he has won less than $600,000 throughout his career.
