The World Poker Tour (WPT) Choctaw $3,800 buy-in Main Event’s Day 2 action kicked off in Durant, Oklahoma, at noon CT with 187 players. Yet, the field had been reduced to 28 players after 12 hours of intense play, and each of the participants eyed the $400,740 top prize.
Alex Foxen was among the remaining players in the tournament. The two-time GPI Player of the Year award winner later advanced to Day 3. Action would resume at the Choctaw Casino & Resort’s Grand Theater on Monday at noon CT.
Foxen held 3,380,000 chips or 135 big blinds. But Brandon Guzman was the only player with 3,600,000 chips and made his maiden WPT cash.

Day 2 Highlights
Only 78 players were in the event by 7 p.m. on Sunday. Three of them got busted at different tables, and each of them took home $4,653. They included Ashkan Massahi, Joey Gargiulo, and Megan Moore.
Their elimination reduced anxiety among the other 75 entrants as each of them was assured of winning over $4,600. Yet, they would continue playing for the rest of Sunday and on Monday. Some of the players who won money but failed to reach Day 3 included Josh Reichard, Fabian Quoss, Andrew Moreno, Jeremy Joseph, Anthony Zinno, and Eric Baldwin.
Foxen Focuses on Another WPT Title
The remaining players would get at least $12,480 each when action resumed on Day 3. But, they would further reduce to six and set the final table that will play on May 26 at Luxor’s HyperX Arena rather than Southern Oklahoma.
Each of the top six finalists is guaranteed at least $81,700, and they will have to visit Las Vegas. On May 25, Bin Weng will enter the WPT Seminole Hard Rock’s final table, being the stack leader and aiming for the $1.1 million prize.
The poker pro might take part in consecutive WPT final tables if he collects many chips at WPT Choctaw. This will be a historical poker event if Weng competes in different final tables.
He grew his stack by 2,000,000 chips on Day 2 and improved his chip position to third place. Still, there is a huge chip gap between Guzman, Foxen, and Weng.
Foxen is determined to win another WPT Main Tour title after winning $1,694,995 in Bellagio, Las Vegas during the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Besides, he collected many chips in the tournament’s first two days.
Other players who reached Day 3 included Erkut Yilmaz, Hunter Cichy, Jared Jaffee, and Loni Hui. Their supporters anticipated their victory, and they hoped that luck would be on their side.
