The 2018 Borgata Spring Poker Open has come to an end with Almedin Imsirovic earning the first-place win during the $2,700 No Limit Hold’em tournament. A total of 519 players competed in the tournament with Imsirovic earning $246,066 for his victory.
Six Players at the Final Table: Heads-Up Battle vs Jattin
When the final table was set, only six players would return to the felt. Imsirovic would begin final table play second in chips, just behind Farid Jattin. Imsirovic would win a pot from Jattin early on to take the lead and would eventually push his way to heads up play. Imsirovic would face off against Jattin in the final round, with a six to one chip lead at the hold’em table.
The two would battle back and forth and Jattin was able to double up after going all-in with 8-2 of diamonds against the Q-9 off-suite of Imsirovic. The board of Q-6-3-5-A had three diamonds which gave Jattin the hand and helped to shorten the chip gap with his competitor.
The stacks would be pretty even and both players would discuss a deal. After some time, a deal was decided, and the event was over, with Imsirovic earning the first place title and just over $3,000 more than Jattin who finished runner up. Jattin was hoping for a second Borgata Open win, after having won a $1,650 buy-in event back in December during the Winter Poker Open.
