GGPoker Launches a New $200 Million Guaranteed Tournament Series

GGPoker is a leading online poker room globally that attracts many foreign and skilled players. It recently launched a $200 million guaranteed poker tournament series that will raise the bar as it surpasses the $150 million series the poker room organized twice.

Daniel Negreanu, the global GGPoker ambassador, says that it will be the largest single online series in poker’s history. Besides, it will have tiers for different bankrolls, including a $2.50+ Low, $25+ Medium, $150+ High, and $1000+ Super. The tiers have different price points, but each of them will provide $100,000 in prizes hence $400,000 in combined prize money.

GGPoker states that the tournaments in its schedule will change many players’ lives. The new GGPoker World Festival (GGWF) will last for one month and start on May 1. It is expected to surpass PokerStars’ Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), which will offer $74 million in prizes.

The 2023 GGPoker World Festival

The poker operator’s officials haven’t released the new festival’s full schedule. But it will have $200 million in guarantees and comprise more than 500 events. It might have several $10 million guaranteed tournaments, a $2.50 buy-in tournament, and a Mystery Bounty event.

About 30 tournaments will have a $1 million guaranteed prize pool, including a few high-stakes events and PL-NL Omaha tournaments. Their guarantees might be between $15,000 to $10 million, with buy-ins of between $2.50 and $25,500. Tournaments in the series might have an average guarantee of between $350,000 and $400,000.

The World Festival Will Set a New Record

The GGPoker World Festival will soon be the biggest global poker series in prize money and guarantees. PokerStars’ SCOOP holds the current record after it held more than 371 events in 2020 and generated $185,000,000.

GGPoker almost broke this record in 2022 and 2021. But it missed it by several million as the GG Spring Festival held over 335 events, offered $176.7 million, and had $150 million guaranteed prize money.

Still, the poker room held the GGPoker Online Championship in 2022, which paid $178 million and had $150 million guaranteed prize money. GGWF promises players $200 million in awards, something which no poker operator could manage in 2020.

It will be GGPoker’s fifth huge tournament series to be held in 2023. Also, it will be its second series with a nine-figure guarantee.

This is twice the $100 million guaranteed World Series of Poker (WSOP) Spring Circuit Series that occurred between March 5 and 28 with more than 100 events, including 18 WSOP Circuit Ring tournaments. The poker operator collaborated with WSOP in the seventh edition, which attracted more than 1.1 million players.

The festival will also be four times larger than the latest knockout-exclusive Bounty Hunters Series. GGPoker will run the festival up to June 6 and is likely to reveal the full schedule soon.
