The Asia Pacific Poker Tour High Roller event has finished up and it was Team partypoker member Kristen Bicknell who earned the first-place win. Bicknell defeated David Peters in heads-up play to capture the title. A total of 117 players competed in the event, with just over $1.1 million in prize money up for grabs.

Seventeen of the 117 players competing would finish in the money with the final table of event featuring nine players. In the end, Bicknell would be able to defeat David Peters, after overcoming a stiff field of competitors, and in the process, crossing the $1.5 million mark when it comes to live tournament earnings. With the finish, Bicknell was able to take home $279,549 in prize money.

In speaking with PokerNews, Bicknell commented that she really wanted to win the event and tried to stay focused throughout the entire tournament, particularly on the final day. The poker player continued by stated that it felt surreal taking on Peters in heads-up play and felt that the win helps her to move one step closer in her poker career. Bicknell also commented that she is driven by competition and is always trying to get better as a player. She also wants to do well and represent women in poker.

The High Roller was part of the APPT Macau, which will continue until the 25th of this month. The Main Event kicks off today with the PokerStars Asia Open, APPT High Roller-Shot Clock Unlimited Re-Entry and the APPT High Roller-Single Re-Entry to take place later on this week into the weekend.
