2024 has been a busy year for live poker events, and it feels like more money has been handed out than in previous years. The World Series of Poker is also coming, which is the biggest annual event.
The PokerGO Tour has kept poker players busy over the last few months, and a recent PLO Series just wrapped up. Ten tournaments took place during this PLO Series, and some major storylines developed.
Daniel Negreanu has put together a Hall of Fame career when playing live poker, and he also showed up and ready to perform at this event. Negreanu won event number 3 in this series, allowing him to cash in with $147,500.
Event #9 had the largest buy-in for this event as it was set at $25,200, which also led to the biggest pot during the series. Seth Davies was the big winner at Event #9 and cashed in with $522,000.
Not only did the PGT PLO Series hand out a ton of cash over the past two weeks, but many different types of games were played.
Parssinen Piles Up Wins
Eelis Parssinen was not a player to watch when this series started, but it didn’t take long before he made a name for himself. Parssinen won the second event of this series, but he was only getting started with his dominant play.
By winning Event #2, Parssinen brought in over $131,000, beating out over 100 other players to win. It took a while for Parssinen to get back into the winner’s circle, but he also came up with a win in event #8.
That was a much better win for Parssinen as he brought in $348,600 by beating out 82 other players to pick up his second win of this event. While it might seem like Parssinen was the clear winner of this series, another player stood out more.
No Stopping Sipila
The overall winner of this series was Samuli Sipila, and he went on a massive run throughout the PGT PLO Series. Sipila was at the final table in four of the 10 events he entered, and he could also come away with two victories.
His first victory came at Event #4 as he got past 88 other players to win more than $240,000, including his bounties. This win was at a Pot Limit Omaha event, and it was clear that he enjoyed playing this type of poker.
The second win for Sipila came at event #7, a Pot Limit Omaha Event. He cashed in with a massive pot and took home some bounties.
