Lopez Wins Big at Wynn Event

The 2024 Wynn Millions Festival has produced a ton of great poker action, and one man was able to walk away with a massive prize this weekend. Adrian Lopez took out some big players to win the $1,600 Mystery Bounty event, and he cashed in with over $190,000 in the process.
Wynn Resorts Las Vegas was where all of the action took place, and over 14 hours of live poker were played in this tournament. Lopez is a relatively no-name player on the live poker scene, and he quadrupled his career earnings with a win at this event.

While the Wynn Millions Festival had many great tournaments on the schedule, this one attracted plenty of big names. Chad Wassmuth ended up in second place in this event and did all he could to push Lopez to falter.

Big Names at Final Table

Wynn Resorts is known for having some great live poker action, and there were some past champions at the final table in this event. Eight of the nine players represented at the final table were from the United States, including Bin Weng.

Weng finished sixth place in this event and could take home $44,950 by ending up in that position. Cherish Andrews was the 2022 Female Player of the Year, and she cashed in with $101,650 and a third-place finish.

Both players were expected to make a run at the final table, but they couldn’t read Lopez during this event. Everyone who finished in at least 9th place took home $19,000, but there was a big gap between that position and the top spot.

Lopez has yet to have much experience playing in massive poker tournaments, but he is familiar with Wynn. There was also some luck involved, but Lopez doesn’t have to apologize for getting the right cards.

Plenty of Other Action

Not only was this tournament being played for 14 hours this weekend, but players were flocking to Wynn Resorts for a chance to win one of the bounties. Craig Mason was the first player to pull a bounty of $100,000, which happened relatively early in the day.

Players were trying to find a way to get to the final table and challenge Lopez, but some big names fell immediately. Lopez set up the final table after eliminating the 10th player, which also gave him a big chip lead.

Wassmuth also spent some time with the chip lead, and there were some moments where it looked as if he was going to pull away. Everyone in the room was locked into the heads-up play, and Lopez was finally able to deliver the knockout punch.

This event always draws massive crowds each year, and Wynn proves to be one of the top poker venues in the world.
