2016 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker

Season XIV of the World Poker Tour will be coming to a close, and will be doing so in sunny Hollywood, Florida at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where they have already begun playing some of their initial events; with a total of 31 live tournaments to choose. It will extend from March 31 all the way until April 22 when the 3-day $15,000 No-Limit Hold’em Tournament of Champions event will take place to put a close to this amazing WPT season. It is expected to draw in thousands of players from around the United States, as well as the world.

Closing Out the Season with a Big Hit

As mentioned before, the season-ending event is the Tournament of Champions, where there is a simple catch to be able to play in this prestigious event. Only Season XIV main event winners, as well as WPT “Champions Club” members,  will be allowed to participate in the poker tournament finale. President and CEO of WPT, Adam Pliska could not be happier by ending the season on this particular event, stating,

“For the first time the WPT Championship will crown a definitive champion from among previous WPT winners. It is our goal to elevate the WPT Tournament of Champions, creating an extraordinary season-ending event to celebrate the members of the WPT Champions Club and the rich legacy of the World Poker Tour. With a significant overlay of cash and prizes the WPT has immediately increased the value of being a WPT Champions Club member, and we will crown two more winners prior to the WPT Tournament of Champions during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown festival.”

This will certainly be a tough event to play in, seeing as it will only feature the best players from this season. It certainly does come with perks for the player that wins, including:

  • $100,000 added to the prize pool by sponsors
  • A Hublot watch
  • Solid gold MasterCard from Aurae
  • Pair of gold Monster 24K headphones
  • Custom poker table from BBO Poker Tables
  • A seat at Tiger’s Poker Night
  • A round of golf at Shadow Creek Golf Course with Matt Savage with two friends.

With only a $15,000 buy-in, this seems like it will be more than worth it for any previous winner.
