The RunGood Poker Series headed to the Horseshoe Casino Tunica last week to host several poker tournament options, including a Main Event. A total of 472 players registered to compete in the Main Event, but it was online player Harris Smith that would earn the first-place finish after settling on a deal with fellow competitors Chris Conrad and Michael Pelt.
Coming in to the final table, Smith held one of the larger chip stacks. When it came down to final table play, Smith would be at around the middle. Michael Pelt would eliminate a number of players from the table and Smith just sat back and let his fellow competitor do the work. At one point though, Smith would make his move and take on Pelt and double up, which helped him to amass a nice chip stack.
Once the field was down to Smith, Pelt and Chris Conrad, a deal would be made. The deal would give Smith the win and just over $52,000 for his efforts. The Main Event was the final tournament of the RunGood Poker Series in Tunica. The series now heads to Quapaw, Oklahoma to host another tournament stop at the Downstream Casino starting on the 10th and continuing through the 16th.
The tournament events support Operation Gratitude, a 501©(3) that creates and delivers care packages for United States service members. During the RunGood Series, limited edition RUNGOOD USA hats are awarded during non-satellite final tables with each hat sending out a care kit to a service member. This season, the RGPS USA has been able to provide 350 care kits to troops located overseas.
